We're on the lookout for a talented Head of Product to join our team and play a crucial role in shaping the strategy, vision and execution of Zūm Rails products. Our Head of Product will lead our product vision, roadmap, and delivery as we scale in the U.S. payments market. Furthermore, the Head of Product will ensure that the product team is clear on scope of work, and have the necessary support to deliver on high-impact product outcomes. Does this sound interesting? Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap that aligns with the company’s overall strategic objectives, with a strong focus on the U.S. payments market.

  • Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify customer needs, trends, and opportunities for innovation specific to the U.S. and Canada payments market.

  • Define product goals and ensure alignment with business priorities, providing a clear framework for success.

  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and design to development and launch.

  • Lead the creation of clear, actionable product requirements — including user stories, business rules, and acceptance criteria — ensuring alignment across engineering, QA, and design.

  • Work closely with engineering and operational leads to assess feasibility, clarify scope, and support sprint planning through continuous backlog refinement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery.

  • Drive product development processes, ensuring products are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.

  • Partner with People & Culture to recruit candidates that align with business needs; develop clear roles and responsibilities to support team development and retention.

  • Conduct bi-annual performance reviews, and ongoing coaching and feedback, to support the continuous evolution of people; 

  • Execute decisions related to team structure, including promotions, performance management, role transitions, and terminations, in alignment with business needs.

  • Develop clear roles, responsibilities, within the product team to support team development and retention.

  • Lead and mentor the product team.

  • Work with key stakeholders (Sales, Operations and other areas of the company) on

  • identifying and prioritizing product changes (including feature requests, client launches,

  • etc);

  • Define and streamline product delivery processes and promote efficiency;

  • Obtain customer feedback and ensure products meet user needs and deliver user experiences they were intended to.

  • Utilize customer feedback, data, to guide product decisions and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with customer success and sales teams to gather feedback and ensure products are solving the intended problems.

  • Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage the product budget.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 

  • Proven experience in product management, with at least 6 years in a product leadership role and 2 years focused on the U.S. market within the payments ecosystem.

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and launching products.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, especially with technology and design.

  • Demonstrated experience building a product strategy and road map for a start-up company; entrepreneurial spirit;

  • Demonstrated leadership in people management including mentoring of product managers, fostering team collaboration, and driving alignment across stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.

  • Familiar with the regulatory landscape and risk considerations that shape product decisions in financial services.

  • Skilled at building and scaling product management practices, including backlog curation, roadmap prioritization, and stakeholder communication in a metrics-driven environment.

  • Ability to synthesize complex information and make data-driven decisions.

  • Customer-centric mindset with the capability of translating feedback into the product development process;

  • Strong experience in identifying and resolving bottlenecks in product development;

  • Expertise in product discovery, customer research, and defining clear product requirements.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with tools for product analysis and data interpretation.

  • Able to break down product roadmaps into relevant presentations to key customers and partners;

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills;

  • Strong ability to strategically plan;

  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and product management frameworks.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills,

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate internally and externally with various stakeholders and customers
